It seemed like a good idea at the time. This phrase was coined by friends of ours. They have since moved out West, but it is something that we still say in our house on a daily basis and brings a smile to my face thinking about our friends. Try it. It fits most situations, especially with the kids. Here is how we have said it in our house lately:
-"It seemed like a good idea at the time to get the twins wooden blocks for their birthday." I said this while caught in the crossfire of a block war zone. It hurts to get hit with a wooden block.
-"It seemed like a good idea at the time to give the kids gum." Said while scraping gum off floor.
-"It seemed like a good idea at the time to let the twins have stickers." Said while scraping stickers off wall.
-"It seemed like a good idea at the time for the twins to have an easel." Said while washing marker off walls, carpet and easel.
Today is Thursday. My sitter will be here in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Not that I am counting.
Have a great day!
